1994 Alumna Amy Folz Hanson was part of the gala celebration commemorating the tenth anniversary of West Salem's Heider Center on Saturday, March 15, 2014. Hanson's Women's Chorale premiered Mary Ellen Haupert's "On the Mississippi", which is based on a poem by West Salem poet, Hamlin Garland.
